
French Vinaigrette
Low on dressing? Need something fresh and zesty? This is our go-to dressing, that works on any salad combination and can be quickly made from cupboard staples on a moment’s notice.
Ingredients
5 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 Tbsp vinegar of choice
Red wine vinegar is our favorite
Balsamic works for a bolder taste
Apple cider, white wine, rice, or even white distilled vinegar will work, however
1 Tbsp Lemon juice (ideally fresh-squeezed, but bottled will do in a pinch!)
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard (though you can use whatever mustard is in the fridge with pretty good results)
1 tsp diced shallots
Garlic is a good substitute (reduce to 1/2 tsp)
For a milder flavor, omit this ingredient entirely
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Whisk ingredients together until emulsified
Toss salad in dressing
