Fresh Root Veggie Chips

Back to Red Radishes

Radishes, turnips, and sweet beets lend themselves to this quick prep method. Try them as an alternative to other salty snacks or eat with a favorite dip for added flavor. Try experimenting with seasonings and different types of salt over the season.

Ingredients

  • Red radishes, salad turnips, or sweet beets (about a handful yields a snack-sized portion; slice up 1-2 bunches for a party)

  • Salt of choice (we prefer a flaky Kosher option, but any finishing salt will work well, and regular table salt is just fine!)

Directions

  1. Rinse veggies and remove greens

  2. Slice 2 mm thick

  3. Toss in a bowl with a pinch of salt (to taste) and let sit 5-10 minutes

  4. Drain excess water that accumulates in the bowl

  5. Enjoy! (You can add a small amount of additional salt, pepper, or other seasonings at this point, if desired)

Try with one of these dips…

  • Hummus

    • We find a garlic hummus makes for an irresistible snack

  • Quick Yogurt Dip

    • Mix 1/2 cup Greek yogurt with 1 Tbsp of Sriracha or Dijon mustard
