Fresh Root Veggie Chips
Radishes, turnips, and sweet beets lend themselves to this quick prep method. Try them as an alternative to other salty snacks or eat with a favorite dip for added flavor. Try experimenting with seasonings and different types of salt over the season.
Ingredients
Red radishes, salad turnips, or sweet beets (about a handful yields a snack-sized portion; slice up 1-2 bunches for a party)
Salt of choice (we prefer a flaky Kosher option, but any finishing salt will work well, and regular table salt is just fine!)
Directions
Rinse veggies and remove greens
Slice 2 mm thick
Toss in a bowl with a pinch of salt (to taste) and let sit 5-10 minutes
Drain excess water that accumulates in the bowl
Enjoy! (You can add a small amount of additional salt, pepper, or other seasonings at this point, if desired)
Try with one of these dips…
